Below are the problems Xiaomi owners come to us with most often. Prices are indicative; we give the exact amount after inspecting the scooter.

Xiaomi scooter handlebar is loose
WhyUsually the joint between the handlebar stem and the folding mechanism loosens or wears. After falls or long rides on bumpy roads, play appears that you feel through the handlebar.
Check it yourselfWith the scooter standing on the ground, rock the handlebar back and forth and see whether the play is felt at the folding joint. If so, don’t try to force-tighten the plastic parts – better bring the scooter in for inspection.
What we doWe check the handlebar stem, folding mechanism and bolts, and either fix the looseness or replace the handlebar stem if it is deformed.

Tyre goes flat or the inner tube is punctured
WhyXiaomi models often use small tyres with inner tubes, and the valve and thin rubber quickly suffer from debris and low pressure. Sometimes the tube keeps going flat because of a cracked valve.
Check it yourselfCheck the pressure and inspect the tyre for embedded glass or nails. You shouldn’t ride on a completely flat tyre – the rim can bend.
What we doWe remove the wheel, replace the tube or tyre, or patch the puncture, and check the rim. Replacing the rear tyre or tube – 15 €, the front – 20 €. In season, we do tyre changes right away, with no queue.

Scooter creaks, rattles or clanks
WhyRattling is most often caused by loose bolts, a worn folding joint, the mudguard or the latch. In some cases, worn bearing seats are to blame.
Check it yourselfCheck that the mudguards, hook and latch are held firmly, and try to pinpoint the noise by pushing the scooter without a rider. You’ll find more typical causes in the article “E-scooter creaking or rattling”.
What we doWe find the source of the noise and tighten or replace the worn parts.
04from 5 €
Weak brakes or a loose brake lever
WhyThe brake cable has stretched, the pads have worn down, or the lever has failed. After rain, dirt on the disc or drum also reduces braking performance.
Check it yourselfCheck that the lever doesn’t touch the handlebar when you squeeze it all the way, and that there is no squealing from the pads. If the brakes are weak, don’t use the scooter and contact a mechanic.
What we doWe adjust the brakes and replace the pads, cable, cable housing or lever. Read more in e-scooter brake repair.
05from 15 €
Front wheel vibrates, handlebar “shakes”
WhyA common cause is worn front fork bearings or a fork bent after hitting a curb. An unevenly worn tyre can also be the cause.
Check it yourselfLift the front and turn the handlebar – if you feel jumps or clicking, the bearings are likely worn. Check whether the fork is bent.
What we doWe replace the fork bearings or the fork itself, and check the handlebar stem. More in handlebar, fork and bearing repair.

Wheel turns hard or you hear a humming noise
WhyThe mechanical cause is usually worn wheel bearings or a damaged axle. Because of water and dirt, bearings can seize up.
Check it yourselfSpin the wheel by hand while the scooter is off the ground: it should turn freely and quietly. If you feel roughness, the wheel is out of round or you hear crunching, it’s worth bringing the scooter in for inspection.
What we doWe replace the rear wheel bearings (15 €), front wheel bearings (35 €) and the axle (15 €). If the motor (wheel) unit itself is mechanically faulty, we replace it – 25 €.
07from 5 €
Mudguard, hook or latch has broken off
WhyMudguards and the hook often break off after a fall or when the scooter is turned upside down during transport. The latch starts to wobble because of a worn plastic part.
Check it yourselfDon’t ride while the mudguard touches the wheel – it can stop the wheel or damage the tyre.
What we doWe replace the front or rear mudguard, mounting bolts, hook and latch, and also repair a loose latch.

Broken or stuck throttle or brake lever
WhyLevers and throttles are most often damaged when the scooter falls onto the end of the handlebar. The plastic cracks, and the return spring no longer brings the lever back.
Check it yourselfLook for visible cracks. If the lever moves stiffly or doesn’t return, don’t ride – it’s a safety issue.
What we doWe replace the throttle (accelerator) or the brake lever – both jobs are 15 € each.
