These are the wheel problems people most often bring to us. Below you’ll find the causes, what you can check yourself, and how we fix them.

Electric scooter tyre keeps losing air
WhyThe most common culprit is a tiny puncture that is hard to see, or a damaged valve. Sometimes the inner tube is cut near the valve or pinched during fitting.
Check it yourselfInflate the wheel and inspect the tread for an embedded nail, glass or thorn. Listen for a hiss near the valve. If you find a foreign object, don’t pull it out before you come in, so the mechanic can see the spot.
What we doWe remove the wheel and check the inner tube and the inside of the tyre. A small puncture is patched (5 €), and a damaged inner tube is replaced with a new one (from 15 €).

I got a puncture – what to do with my e-scooter
WhyPunctures are common on city roads: glass shards, nails, sharp kerb edges. Low pressure increases the risk, because the inner tube gets pinched against the rim.
Check it yourselfDon’t ride on if the wheel is completely flat; it’s better to push the scooter to the workshop. Riding on a flat wheel damages the tyre and the rim.
What we doWe assess whether patching the inner tube is enough (from 5 €), or whether the inner tube or tyre needs replacing according to the price list. During the season we do urgent jobs right away, with no queue.

Tubeless tyre loses air quickly
WhyIn tubeless tyres, air usually escapes through a small puncture, a poor bead seal or the valve. In some cases sealant helps, but it isn’t a solution to every problem.
Check it yourselfInflate the tyre and inspect the wheel for any sharp object left in it. If the scooter has been standing for a long time, a small loss of pressure over a few weeks can be normal.
What we doWe look for the leak and, if the model allows, top up with sealant (Ninebot MAX G30 – 10 €) or replace the tyre or inner tube.
04from 15 €
Tyre is worn, smooth or cracked
WhyHeavier scooters wear out tyres faster. The drive wheel usually wears first. Cracks on the sidewalls appear due to age or prolonged under-inflation.
Check it yourselfInspect the tread: if it is almost smooth or the inner tube is visible, the tyre needs replacing. Check the sidewalls – cracks mean the tyre has aged.
What we doWe remove the old tyre, check the rim, fit a new tyre and inner tube or sealant depending on the model, and set the pressure.

Scooter wheel wobbles or has play
WhyA wheel can wobble because of a deformed rim after hitting a pothole, an unevenly seated tyre or worn bearings. If the play is felt when braking, we also check the axle.
Check it yourselfLift the scooter and spin the wheel – you’ll see whether it „hops” sideways or up and down. Don’t take apart a wheel with a motor yourself.
What we doWe check the rim, tyre and bearings. We replace a deformed rim (9 €); worn bearings are charged separately.
06from 20 €
Solid tyre is worn or has come loose
WhySolid tyres can’t be punctured, but over time they harden, wear down and may start to slip on the rim. As a result, the scooter rides harder and rattles.
Check it yourselfCheck for cracks and whether the rubber has been worn down to a smooth surface.
What we doWe remove the old solid tyre and fit a new one.
07from 15 €
Inner tube has pushed out or valve is crooked
WhyWhen the valve turns together with the inner tube, a tear quickly appears at the valve. The cause is low pressure or an inner tube that was not fitted properly.
Check it yourselfCheck that the valve stands straight in the rim hole. A tilted valve is worth checking even before a puncture happens.
What we doWe reseat or replace the inner tube, and check the rim hole and the tyre bead seat.
08from 15 €
Scooter rides stiffly and „jolts” your hands
WhyStiffness is increased by excessive pressure, solid tyres or worn shock absorbers. A wheel that is too soft has the opposite effect – the scooter „floats” and the inner tube tires out faster.
Check it yourselfCheck the pressure with a pressure gauge and compare it with the values on the tyre sidewall.
What we doWe set the correct pressure and check the tyres and shock absorbers. If necessary, replacing a shock absorber costs from 15 € (excluding parts).
